How do we get there?
Since most of us live in Hamburg and the north of Germany, we love to come by car; especially this car.
This is the legendary Ford Escort. It has been to Klitmøller more often than some of our team members. It can transport up to 5 people plus a huge amount of surf gear, which makes it the ultimate travel partner!
The Escort knows the way so well that you can just get in and it will drive you all by itself!

Travel by car:
The best route to Stormfarmen is by car. From the Danish border it is only 315 kilometres to Klitmøller.
After crossing the border, you stay on the E45 until you reach Vejle.
From there, you follow the road to Route 18 to Holstebro.
This is where the scenic part of the route begins.
Follow Route 11 to Thisted and turn onto Route 26 to Hanstholm. Leave the road at the first opportunity to your left and follow Klitmøllervej. Shortly before you reach Klitmøller, you turn left into Skaksvej and after a few meters you will see the Stormfarmen right in front of you.
Google Maps might suggest a different route, but we know after many years of experience that this is the easiest and most beautiful way.
Travel by plane:
If you don't have a car, you can also fly to one of the two airports in the area.
The nearest airport is in Aalborg, from which it only takes 90 minutes by taxi or rental car to the Stormfarmen.
Billund airport is southern and a little further away. From there it takes just over two hours to reach Klitmøller, but it offers more choices of flights than Aalborg.
If you have your own plane – you can fly to Hanstholm – just 15min away from Stormfarmen.
Travel by train:
From Denmark or the north of Germany it is also possible to travel by train. The nearest train station is Thisted. It offers various train and bus connections to Aalborg or Veije.
For the way from Thisted to Klitmøller we recommend a taxi, since there is no bus stop or other form of public transport at the Stormfarmen itself.
